Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but my friend Jenna (a.k.a. trashcan_chica) needs some help:

"does anyone know of any queer zines about living in rural areas or going to rural areas?

any help/pointing in the right direction would be amazing. i went through the whole Queer Zine Archive and couldn't really find anything.

thanks!
jenna b

p.s. i just got a wordpress site, sassyfrasscircus.com!"

Her (AIM) away message also says: "is looking for zines about/by members of radical queer ANTI-URBAN communities, so if you know of any..."

So please comment if you can help at all; thanks. :]

HElp! Music Video Unanswered! [26 Nov 2007|11:26am]

electronicoffee
I've been looking for the title and/or artist name
for a music video that came out (I believe) sometime
this year (2007)- possibly in late 2006. It's an electronic
music, DJ, or dance video .. it's got a girl who's got a
compulsion to dance, constantly.. she goes through life
constantly dancing- people think she's weird, then she
meets a guy who has the same condition and they fall in
love, dancing constantly.. even during giving birth..
scene cuts to them raising a family, and their kids dance constantly too.
Please help, this has been bugging me for days!!

PS: NO! It is not Axwell's - Feel The Vibe. Which is only 1/2 as good anyways.

Inquiry: Seeking New Pbem [07 Sep 2006|09:21am]

xgregart
I know this is a bit of a longshot, but figured I would try here. I have been in a long running play be email game that was X-Men based which recently ended that was gay friendly. Sadly that game (run though LJ) has ended since the GM is starting school and no longer has the time. I however still have time and need to find a new pbem/forum based game.

If anyone knows of a good PBEm, preferably Superhero or Sci-Fi based, though other kinds could work as well. Any leads or potential ideas would be appreciated. I have enjoyed doing the game through LJ so those games would be prefered as well.

Thanks

Looking for Table Top Gamers -- Old WoD (Near Seattle) [10 Jul 2006|11:57am]

girlabomination
I'm thinking it might be nice to get an old school WoD game going for Vampire (or one of the other genres if there is more interest). Sooooo, I'm curious if there are any table top gamers in the Seattle area who might be interested. I like running storylines and know the system almost like the back of my hand.

In an ideal situation, I feel it would be nice to have a large player base (8-15 players), but run each game session with a smaller number of people (3-5). I feel that by doing this there is less pressure for people to feel like they always have to be at game sessions (real life comes first), and I feel that it's better for being able to get semi-spontaneous game sessions together. "I'm bored... Lets run a game. OK! Call (blah) need to talk to (blah's character). OK. Let's invite (Blahbity, and Blahzer). (Blazer) can't make it.. Ok Next on the list..." There's an appeal to me in having the capacity of going from bored to having a table full of gamers who had also been previously bored on just a few hours notice.

A word on my gaming style when I run chronicles... I like to focus alot on dramatics and placing characters into situations where there are emotional and moral conflicts that play a dominant role over the physical ones. This isn't to say that I am the type of ST that avoids combat like the plague, because I know I'm more than capable of handling it, but rather I simply find these kinds of struggles as well as those where people have to figure out exactly what the heck is going on to be more intriguing and memorable than the ones where the characters have a very narrow "Go kill this. Done. Yay you saved the day" feel to them.

If you are interested, the best way to contact me is probabally just e-mailing at PrincessParadox at AOL dot com.

Kind of randomly found this group thing. I decided do go ahead and join because you were all:

"Rules: * No nudity, go to cock_talk for that."

... and then you were like:

"Interests: 22: cock, ... underwear, ...."

I'm 25, in the east SF bay area. Haven't been living here very long. Don't get out much yet. Mostly I work and go to school. There is also occasional fun and a lot of sleeping. Action-packed excitement.

Back at it Again.... [11 Mar 2005|10:15am]

March 11, 2005 -- MADONNA is firing back at Boy George after the '80s pop star blasted her for cynically bilking her gay fans...

George says Madonna's devotion to Kabbalah is the ultimate act of hypocrisy. "It's ironic that she's joined an organization that says homosexuality is a disease that can be cured and no one picks her up on it," George told the London Times. "After making all those millions of dollars out of gay people, pretending to kiss girls, pretending to be a lesbian! I think she's cynical."

** I think she has changed, we all loved the Blond Ambition startlett who ran naked down a street for her book, and kissed Sandra Bernhard for giggles.. she use to be Edgy, Provocative, In-Your-Face, Brash and un-appologetic.. she is NONE of those things now.. she was a great icon, just not so much anymore... She us to change herself every few months, she has been the same "Esther" for years now..

Even with the latest version of Mozilla, the option to play choice of sound for email notification does not work, at least for the Mac OS X that is.

Before going on to create newer versions, why not fix the old bugs of the current version?

If they do not bother to fix the problem, then why bother having the option.

Absurd Anti-Apple Attitude [12 Jan 2005|12:14am]

From San Francisco Chronicle online

Old Apples causes harm

[At] Apple's Macworld Conference & Expo at the Moscone Center . . . a handful of picketers gathered outside around a pile of old Apple computers.
On the monitors of some of the computers were images of Asian children and adults picking through equipment in dumps of toxic electronic waste containing lead, mercury and brominated flame retardants.
The pictures of the children in the e-waste, which couldn't be identified by brand [my emphasis], were displayed in front of the convention center . . .
"We don't think its acceptable to dump toxic electronics waste on developing countries and we don't want it dumped here at home either," said Gopal Dayaneni, a spokesman for the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition, which sponsored the demonstration. Several environmental organizations are engaged in a nationwide campaign to protest what they say are Apple's irresponsible environmental practices, particularly what they claim is the company's failure to ensure that its products are disposed of properly.

It's Over.....
Last night I got a call from my neice. She told me my Bunny died. He was the best bunny to ever exist. He was an all black Norwegian Dwarf. Here is the story of Benny D'Bunny:

New Years Day 2000: Benny was born. He was born in a pet shop in Bridgewater where I went to school. He was there 1st baby animal of the Millenium. He was the only one of the litter to survive, and he was the runt. His mom died during the birth.

January 20th 2000: I went to the pet store to get food for my guinea pigs and was browsing around and playing with the animals. I went to the bunny cage to see them play and there were about ten of them in there. All regular sized except for Benny. He was just a baby and was being bullied by all the other bunnies. I reached in to push them away and Benny managed to jump out of the cage and into my arms. It was love from there on in. I took him home and introduced him to my other pets. 5 guinea pigs and a rat. All of them roamed free, including the rat, and they were all litter box trained. Benny learned very quickly his role and where he should and shouldnt play. He was litter box trained after only a week. He slept in my bed next to me, and woke me up in the morning. He was amazing. i had never seen such a smart rodent in my life. I carried him around with me in a backpack that I wore in my chest. He literally went everywhere with me, and never jumped out or tried to run away.

He came to work with me for 2 years. He would sit in my drawer and sleep or eat or play with the kids when they came in. He was the best.
Soon my boss said that I shouldnt bring him to work anymore, that it wasnt professional. So I would rush home every day after work to take him out on the town. He was my best freind.
I met my boyfreind and it was Benny who confirmed he was right for me. He usually made this little angry noise at guys I met to let me know he didnt like him. But he warmed up to my bf really fast. He even liked to mimic him when he was asleep. It was the cutest thing ever.
Me and my bf moved to Quincy 2 years ago and was told we couldnt have pets. I was crushed. My neice offered to take care of him and I thought it was a good idea. She loved him and was very responsible when caring for him. I came to visit as much as possible and still bought his food, treats and litter. He was excited whenever I came to visit.
Now he is gone. He is gone and im so horribly sad. Ive been crying for hours str8 and its horrible that I cant stop. He was my buddy, and now he is no more. People keep saying that he is in a good place now. Well, ya know what? I dont beleive that. I dont beleive in God or any other kind of religion. I lack faith. I think that once your dead, its like shutting off the lights. You are just simply gone. Forever.
There will never be another like you Benny. I loved you with all my heart and will miss you forever lil guy.
Today is the day my mother died. I am sick. I have to work most of the day. I dont think I have ever been so depressed. I need to hit someone, or break something. I need to lash out. But I cant. I have to be strong. I hate myself.
